KarteiDeck ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the KarteiDeck app ("App").
Information We Collect
KarteiDeck is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:
- No account required. You do not need to create an account to use KarteiDeck.
- Local storage only. All your progress, streak data, XP, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- No data transmitted. Your personal data never leaves your device. We do not have servers that store your information.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device:
- Your display name and avatar initial
- Study progress, including mastery levels, review dates, XP, and streaks
- App settings and preferences
- Cosmetic unlocks and equipped items
This data is stored only on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app or reset your progress within the app.
Analytics and Tracking
KarteiDeck does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage, location, or behavior.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, KarteiDeck will send you daily reminders to study. Notification permissions are managed entirely by iOS and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
Text-to-Speech
KarteiDeck uses Apple's built-in AVSpeechSynthesizer for German pronunciation. This feature processes text on-device and does not send any data to external servers.
In-App Purchases
KarteiDeck uses RevenueCat to handle in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, your payment information is processed by Apple and is not stored by KarteiDeck. For RevenueCat's privacy practices, please see their Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
KarteiDeck is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data is stored locally and no data is transmitted, there are no special risks for younger users.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
