By downloading, installing, accessing, and using KarteiDeck (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of such modifications.
1. License Grant
KarteiDeck grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. You may not copy, modify, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, or publish the app or any of its content without our express written permission.
2. User Accounts and Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and any settings. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.
3. Intellectual Property Rights
The app and all content, features, and functionality including but not limited to information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio are owned by KarteiDeck, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
4. User-Generated Content
You may create, store, and review flashcards and study materials within the app (collectively, "User Content"). You retain all rights to your User Content. However, you grant KarteiDeck a limited license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the app's services to you.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the app:
- For any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- To harass, threaten, embarrass, or cause distress or discomfort to any person
- To obscure or hide your identity or impersonate any person
- To upload, post, or transmit viruses, malware, or destructive code
- To interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the app
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or related systems
- To reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app
6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
6.1 Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
KarteiDeck offers auto-renewable subscription plans, including Monthly and Annual, that provide access to premium features such as higher daily card limits, cosmetic unlocks, enhanced statistics, weekend XP boosts, and streak protection features.
6.2 Subscription Terms

Length of subscription:
- Monthly: Automatically renews every calendar month
- Annual: Automatically renews every 12 months
Price per subscription:
- Monthly: $4.99 USD or equivalent in your region
- Annual: $29.99 USD per year or equivalent in your region
Billing details:
- Your iTunes account will be charged at confirmation of purchase
- Your subscription will automatically renew unless you disable auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period
- You can manage subscriptions and disable auto-renewal through your Apple ID account settings at any time
6.3 Lifetime License
If you purchase a one-time lifetime license at $9.99, you receive perpetual access to the app's premium features on the device or devices for which it was purchased. Lifetime licenses are non-transferable and non-refundable after purchase.
6.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled according to Apple's standard refund policies. Most refund requests must be made within 14 days of purchase through the App Store. Lifetime purchases are final and non-refundable.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. KarteiDeck does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, KarteiDeck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.
9. Data and Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your information.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the app at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the app will immediately cease. Any provisions of these Terms of Use that should survive termination will do so.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where KarteiDeck is operated, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Use is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies or agreements referenced here, constitute the entire agreement between you and KarteiDeck regarding the app and supersede all prior agreements, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter hereof.
14. Changes to Terms
KarteiDeck reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of the app following the posting of revised Terms of Use means that you accept and agree to the changes.
