How does spaced repetition work?
After reviewing a card, you rate it as Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. KarteiDeck uses an SM-2 based schedule to decide when you should see that card again, bringing hard cards back sooner and pushing stable cards further out.
What does KarteiDeck Pro unlock?
The app's Pro screen highlights more cards daily, all banners, streak rekindle, weekend 2× XP, and all cosmetics. If a setting opens the paywall, that feature is part of Pro.
How do I unlock new tiers?
Each tier opens when you reach Strong or Mastered status on enough words in the current tier. The system is designed to reward actual retention rather than quick exposure.
Can I change the number of cards per session?
Yes. In the app, go to Profile, then Settings, and adjust the sliders for new cards and review cards per session.
How do I reset my progress?
Go to Profile, then Settings, scroll to the data section, and choose the reset option. This clears cards, XP, streaks, and related local progress.
Is my data backed up?
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, your progress may be lost. iCloud sync is not described on this site yet, so assume local-only behavior unless the product explicitly says otherwise.
How do I change my banner?
Open Profile and look for the Change Banner option. The app supports banner selection there, and the Pro screen says Pro unlocks the full banner set.
Why can't I start another new-card session today?
KarteiDeck limits new cards per day to protect memory consolidation. Due cards stay available, and your settings may let you tune the daily cap.
